Yasaka Temple, temple sake and okonomiyaki pancakes

This very famous temple had lots of tourists milling about. It sits on a hill overlooking the Gion area. Although the district was very crowded, it was still super interesting and historic. At the top temple park, Christopher had a glass of sweet temple sake.
These are not real geisha. Apparently it is quite a thing to pay for a kimono rental as a tourist and walk around in the costumes.

This is the wishing well of the temple. If you get a bad fortune you have to tie it up on a gate.

This is the geisha district. Real geisha still ply their practice here but remain hidden from prying eyes.

This was the display at the okonomiyaki place. The decor here was astounding!
We decided to eat here when we saw them making the okonomiyaki in the front and we were too hungry to resist. I love going out to eat here. No tipping makes it soooo much easier!
