Arashiyama and Tenryu-Ji
When I asked about this place, Chris said it was pretty touristy but we could go if I wanted. Only later did I discover this is where the monkey park is, so dang... I missed that...!!Arashiyama (嵐山? Storm Mountain) is a district on the western outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. It also refers to the mountain across the Ōi River, which forms a backdrop to the district. Arashiyama is a nationally designatedHistoric Site and Place of Scenic Beauty.[1]
This is home to the world famous Bamboo Forest and the Tenruyu-ji shrine, a UNESCO world heritage site. This area is absolutely GORGEOUS... It's nestled in the mountains and looks just like a scene from a postcard or painting.
