Last Day in Kyoto... :( April 25.
Because I had an evening flight, Chris and I had basically one last partial day together. Because his classes ran late on Monday, we really couldn't plan much that was too far away. I had already purchased my train ticket back to Osaka and needed to leave by 4. So I spent the morning packing up, and as per usual, my bags were overly crammed! Mostly with Daiso goodies. (Gotta love Daiso.) I really thought I was ALL ready to go....that all I would have to do would be to pack my bags and I'd be done!!! but more on that later.I met Chris at his room after his classes were done. This is the jacket he purchased at his favorite men's clothing store. I think it would look great with a black t-shirt so I bought him one on clearance for 600 yen at the same place. Turned out it had 3/4 sleeves! Odd. 3/4 sleeves for a men's t-shirt? No wonder it was on sale. But Chris said he would wear it!
We basically only had time for Kohikan Coffee, so we took a quick walk back to the station...Chris only later found out you can get a full refill for half price! Dannng! This is such good coffee. Not sure how they do the charcoal brew... but something about it is just SUPERB! Here is a Pinterest post from another location but the process is the same.

and then we made the long trek back to my room, not relishing the idea of lugging my luggage back to the station. So we toyed with the idea of getting a cab back. Now remember I had to bring the luggage down THESE super narrow stairs.
And did it, one step at a time.

I had paid for another night here, but in retrospect didn't really need to. I could have just left my bags in the lobby or at Chris's. But no matter, it was fine! Meant I didn't have to rush and I liked supporting the cute little place, the Guest Inn Kyoto.
We hailed a cab about halfway there, since Chris was starving and couldn't walk much further. Only 900 yen to the station, just under $9 USD.
